Our Challenge

Positioned at the intersection of challenge and opportunity, this module is designed to prepare students with the competencies and skills required to critically engage with financial technology innovation and digital transformation in financial services and financial markets. Students will engage with a real-world fintech challenge provided by an industry partner using a Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) approach. Working collaboratively, students will investigate the challenge, analyse relevant market and stakeholder needs and develop innovative, evidence-based solutions informed by academic research, industry practice and contemporary developments in financial technology. This unique learning experience will provide students with the opportunity to explore how emerging technologies and innovative business models are transforming finance while developing practical and transferable skills relevant to the future world of work. Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) is a powerful framework that encourages learners to solve complex problems through real-world application and collaborative inquiry. Students will have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals and external stakeholders throughout the learning experience. The module is designed to provide a transformative and applied learning environment that encourages students to develop their communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving capabilities while fostering an innovative mindset within the context of financial technology and digital finance.
