Our Challenge

How will mobility look like in the future? What kind of vehicles and which services will we use? How can we imagine mobility in the future by considering the past, the tendencies, the stakeholders, and cultural biaises? Can we deconstruct existing narratives to create our own? You will use the foresight method to conceive several scenarios for mobility in 2070. With this methodology, you will be able to better understand the aspects to be considered to draft a desirable scenario for future mobility. You will have the chance to talk to experts, learn about “catastrophe scenarios”, “wild cards”, and much more. The challenge provider will let you test his brandnew "carbike"! This method is more than just fantasy: it’s a broadly used methodology worth knowing and exploring, and it is used for many products and services by a lot of companies and administrations. Are you curious enough to learn more about foresight and mobility? Then come and join us for this one-week on-site challenge in an international team! You can follow this challenge in English, Spanish or German.

Information

Sustainable mobility is an important part of the shift we must make if we want to achieve only 2 tonnes of CO2eq. emissions per person and year in 2050. But are we able to change our habits? Are we dependent on the path we took when we started using cars? In this challenge you will try to answer these questions together with other international students with the foresight method. You will be able to exchange with the French students working on other subjects and gain insights in the ideas other students have concerning our future.

During this challenge, you will:

  • Deconstruct existing narratives about the future
  • Shift your cultural perspective and draw inspiration from other ways of thinking and acting
  • Construct your own images of the future
  • Discuss your proposals and defend your arguments
  • Analyse the ethical issues involved in foresight methods

We will of course also include social activities and small trips to do some sightseeing in the beautiful area around Toulouse.
