This challenge invites international, interdisciplinary student teams to design a feasible drone competition task addressing industrial noise monitoring. Each team will translate a real-world acoustic-monitoring problem into a safe and engaging mission for upper-secondary-school participants aged approximately 12–16. Within a common set of technical and organisational constraints, teams will independently define the scenario, competition environment, acoustic concept, drone mission, rules, scoring method and proposed solution. They will also prepare credible evidence that the task can be implemented, using a simulation, digital model, animation, interactive presentation, partial experiment or another suitable validation method. The core competition concept should be achievable through manual or assisted flight and must explicitly consider drone self-noise, safety, repeatability, cost and operational complexity. The challenge is delivered in blended form through online collaboration and a physical mobility week in Poland, while all essential activities remain accessible remotely.
These are the teachers you'll work with on the challenge.
Bachelor Level
The student designs an innovative drone competition task that addresses an industrial noise-monitoring challenge using engineering, ICT and digital tools.
The student develops rules, scoring and safety measures that make the competition clear, fair, safe and suitable for young and less experienced participants.
The student evaluates the technical, economic and practical feasibility of their solution, considering drone self-noise, data collection, ICT requirements, costs, safety, repeatability and implementation challenges.
The student works effectively in an international team to test and improve the solution using simulations, digital models, prototypes, experiments or other suitable methods, and communicates the results to others.
