Description

This course combines the technical development of a mechanical system, such as a billiard-playing robot, with agile leadership principles. Students design, prototype, and test the striking unit, intentionally left imperfect to encourage iterative improvement. Through structured milestones, they develop engineering skills, such as creating precise locking mechanisms and integrating coupling systems, while applying agile methodologies to foster continuous improvement. Simultaneously, the course emphasizes leadership development by challenging students to work in interdisciplinary and international teams, reflecting the global nature of modern professional environments. By applying agile principles to real-world challenges, students enhance adaptability, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Information

Value and progress

Develop Interdisciplinary Problem-Solving Skills

By the end of the micro-module learners will be able to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge in constructing a mechanical device and agile leadership principles to practice by applying learned innovation methods. This will enhance students` adaptability, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

ESCO SKILLS

Interdisciplinary and international collaboration

By the end of the micor-module learners will cultivate soft skills relating to interdisciplinary and international collaboration, communication, ideation, and collective creativity.

ESCO SKILLS

Design initial prototypes

By the end of the micro-module students will have fabricated and tested their prototypes using advanced manufacturing tools, such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
