What do you think of when you try to picture an engineer? In this micromodule, you'll explore how varied the image of an engineer can be depending on a range of different contexts (time periods, geographic location, socioeconomic or disciplinary background), identities (notably gender), and the impact that these engineers have had on the world. Concepts such as science, innovation, and social progress will all be open to investigation and debate. You'll pay particular attention to the role of women played in both engineering history and in the present day. We encourage you to use your openness and curiosity to develop new perspectives on this topic that is essential to all future engineers.
These are the teamchers you'll work with on the challenge.
By the end of this micromodule you will be able to understand and analyse documents, as well as draw connections between them.
By the end of this micromodule, you will be able to articulate how other people experienced engineering or being an engineer, and being able to relate empathetically to these experiences.
By the end of this micromodule, you will be able to imagine alternative models of an engineer and be able to describe them.
