Our Challenge

Step into the future of smart manufacturing by designing a digital twin of an automated production line. Using cutting-edge tools like Siemens NX MCD, TIA Portal, and AI-driven systems, you’ll create a virtual replica of a real-world industrial process—such as a drawing product manufacturing line—integrated with Siemens PLCs, NIRYO robots, electric presses, sensors, and an intuitive HMI. This challenge brings together electrical and industrial engineering, robotics, and sustainable innovation in collaboration with Siemens, offering a hands-on experience at the forefront of smart manufacturing. Taking place at INSA Strasbourg’s Factory of the Future platform, you’ll work alongside Masters engineering students and academic mentors to tackle real industry problems. Your goal? To optimize key processes like predictive maintenance (reducing downtime with AI), real-time logistics (automating inventory tracking), and precision control (enhancing deep-drawing operations with IoT-enabled sensors). Through a mix of online and in-person workshops from September to January, you’ll bridge the gap between physical and digital systems, gaining practical experience in simulation, data analytics, and sustainable automation. The project culminates in a pitch, partnered with Siemens, where you’ll showcase how digital twins can transform industrial efficiency. If you're passionate about electrical and industrial engineering, robotics, and sustainable innovation, this is your chance to work with industry leaders and build the skills that are shaping the future of manufacturing.
