Our Challenge

Forests are the largest and most efficient terrestrial ecosystems. Their central role in the planet´s biodiversity, ability to store carbon, and wealth of raw materials, make forests indispensable in the fight against climate change and crucial for people´s lives. Recognising this, EU has introduced legislation and policies aiming to protect forests and reverse the degradation of the ecosystem. The Swedish non-profit association Skogens Mångbruk (Forest Multifunctional Use) is striving to support the new landscape, encourage restorative and regenerative practices and facilitate long-term viability. In this challenge, you will employ the principles of degrowth economy, emphasising sustainability, localised economies, social justice and well-being, to assist Skogens Mångbruk and its members in finding ways to increase ecological and societal impact for a more sustainable society.
