Our Challenge

The Social Media Detox Camp Challenge is a one-week immersive experience designed to encourage participants to develop a sustainable, long-term strategy for a balanced and healthy relationship with social media. Set against the stunning backdrop of Trentino’s valleys and mountains, this phone-free camp integrates structured training courses, group workshops, and social activities to address the fundamental challenges posed by digital overuse and addiction. During the week-long camp, participants will receive instruction on the psychological roots of screen dependence and the skills necessary to identify triggers, manage cravings, and establish healthy boundaries. In addition, the curriculum will include instruction on the management of screen time, the utilization of mindfulness practices, and the promotion of peer-to-peer support in addressing digital dependency. All training courses will be guided by experts and educators, and they will be complemented by hands-on activities addressing various issues related to digital overuse. For example, sedentarism, social isolation, nature deficit disorder, poor concentration and manual work inability. A wide range of detox activities will be offered to tackle such issues, including yoga and meditation classes, phone-free hikes, sports and nature immersions, art classes, phone-free parties, and night activities. Training courses and workshops will be limited to half a day, as the remaining time will be dedicated to independent study and group work on the challenge. During these designated hours, participants are permitted to utilize computers for the purpose of working on the challenge. Phones will remain prohibited for the entire week, with the exception of 15 minutes per day. By the end of the week, each participant is expected to present their proposal for balancing online engagement with offline wellbeing, along with a long-term strategy for fostering a healthy relationship with social media.
