Most engineering courses end with a report graded by a professor. This one ends with a drone competition you built from scratch.

The client is the Campus — CMQAES — a consortium formed by six founding members: La Région Académique Occitanie, Région Occitanie, Airbus, UIMM Occitanie, Université de Toulouse and Aerospace Valley. The Campus fosters synergies between training, innovation and employment to anticipate tomorrow's skills needs, and for this challenge, it needs to motivate high-school students to be open to working in the industrial world — using drones that help monitor machines as the hook.

Drone Competition Lab puts you in that real industrial partnership: INSA Toulouse mechanical engineering students lay the technical groundwork — selecting a drone platform, integrating acoustic sensors for industrial noise monitoring, working alongside drone specialist Aktiseos — and then it's your turn.

As an ECIU student joining the challenge, you'll take that technical base and turn it into something teenagers can actually compete in: writing the safety rules, setting the scoring system, and translating engineering specifications into a format a non-expert audience can understand and get excited about.

This isn't a simulated case study. You're working across disciplines and across borders, in a team where mechanical design, flight safety and science communication all have to come together before a real event date.

You'll leave with concrete experience in drone/UAV systems, safety and regulatory thinking, and — just as valuable — the ability to explain technical work to people who aren't engineers, a skill most technical programs never teach directly.

If you've ever wanted your coursework to have an audience beyond a grading rubric, this challenge is built for exactly that.

Transcript of Records is an official document issued by your home university. It specifies the name of the institution, the academic programme you are enrolled in, the list of courses taken up until the current period, the exams or tests you passed, the grades and the credits you earned.
