This challenge will introduce you to the essential steps of a frugal construction project, from initial design to hands-on implementation. It is structured in three parts:  
•    First, you will begin with online sessions to learn about the challenge, the project's teaching methodology, and online activities to form teams and get to know each other. You will also learn more about the concepts of bioclimatic design, eco-materials and energy efficiency.   
•    In a second phase, you will work in small groups to explore specific topics in more depth, carrying out independent research and reflecting how you may apply your findings.  
•    Finally, you will take part in a real-world renovation project in a high school in Rennes, where you will be expected to draft your own construction proposal and gain direct experience with materials and techniques.  
•    Throughout the challenge, you will explore examples of innovative projects from around Brittany, where local authorities are supporting sustainable building as part of the region’s ecological transition.

Participation in all three phases is required. You will collaborate with students from INSA Rennes and the National School of Architecture in Brittany (ENSAB), working in multidisciplinary teams.  
  
You will be supported by faculty members with expertise in eco-design, bioclimatic architecture, sustainable urban planning, eco-materials, and home automation. During the on-site phase, you will also work alongside professionals from the construction industry, gaining valuable insights into how theory translates into practice.
